Specklepaw sat on a patch of grass, his eyes focused on the setting sun on the horizon. It was beautiful each shade of color adding a unique look to the skies around it and causing an unexplainable sense of calm to flow throughout his body. For once in a long time Specklepaw was happy yet he didn't show it for fear that one of his clanmates would see, it was mostly his reputation around thunderclan that made him look unhappy at all times but he nev er liked to talk about it.
Specklepaw began to think of a female apprentice from his clan, he could never seem to remember her name but he knew that he had some unexplained emotions when he was around her, he didn't know exactly what those emotions were and a cat like him most likely didn't want to know.

hawkpaw healer rookie of thunderclan The small, pretty silver tabby sighed as the sun slowly inched its way below the horizon. It seemed the very skies were on fire, all for her. For all that it was beautiful to watch the spectacle nature was putting on, it heralded the coming of the night, and the night meant the dark. And Hawkpaw hated the dark. Shivering involuntarily, she looked down from her post in one of the willows above the soothing, rolling grass which was part of Thunderclan's expansive territory. And then she saw it. A smudge of black, a dark shadow which, outlined in the blazing light of the sunset, had no features other than the shape of a sitting cat. Her natural curiosity overran her fear and she lithely leapt from the tree and padded towards it.
As soon as she got close enough to recognise who it was, Hawkpaw cursed herself. Mousedung, she thought, It's him. Indeed, it was Specklepaw, her long-time adversary. Ever since they had been kits he had found it fun to make fun of her size, her eyes, her pelt, her ability, the way she stammered when she spoke to other cats; anything he could think of, really. She was still recovering from the latest barrage of particularly unnecessarily cruel remarks from this calico cat, but she was here now. There was no chance to run away this time. Bracing herself, she managed to stutter out, "Hi, Specklepaw," before her wariness complete overtook her and she could not utter another word.

Specklepaw perked his ears when he heard the familiar voice of Hawkpaw, he turned to face her and looked her in the eyes. For once his tone didn't sound as cruel or violent as it normally would have it was this that gave off the feeling that Hawkpaw had caught Specklepaw in a good mood. Specklepaw tiwtched his ears before speaking" Hello mousebrain."He said.
Specklepaw felt bad for the insult but he didnt show it, he was confused enough as it is over his feelings for her and showing those afeelings at this stage were not an option for him. He kept his head held high as he looked at her trying to give off the sense that he was confident when he was really very confused about this female.

hawkpaw healer rookie of thunderclan Hawkpaw lowered her eyes and looked at the ground as Specklepaw did his usual greeting of insults. But it was not as harsh as usual, and Hawkpaw let a secret smile sneak onto her features, hidden by her downcast face. His high-raised chin was a signature of his pride, and he was the picture of confidence. but something was off, she just could not place it. Stammering, she watched him sit for a moment before casting around for a topic. "The s-sunset is p-p-pretty, isn't it," she mumbled, raising her light-green eyes to rest on his.

When she remarked on how pretty the sunset was he couldn't help but crack a smile. "Yes it is indeed beautiful." Specklepaw said. "To think that our ancestors looked upon the same sunset ages ago and they saw the exact same thing that we're seeing right now, it's like a portal to the past."He said.
Specklepaw felt a twinge of pain in his heart for a second as if he had said something that he was going to regret but he didnt care much about it. The calico apprentice wondered what happened to this calm beautiful place to make it so horrible and nasty.

hawkpaw healer rookie of thunderclan {{ my muse is deaaaaad, totally six feet under... }}
How could he be so calm uner these conditions? Her entire heart was racing and her mind was blocked by negative thoughts. Just being around another cat sent shivers down her spine. Suddenly she felt claustrophic and yet alone at the same time, and inched away from his suffocating presence with an apologetic smile. How she wished he was that much nicer, like some of the other cats with their fake kindness and their pity. She loathed pity, but she hated him more, just for the fact that he was so purely awful to her and everything he did terrified and irritated her and that she just wished she could front up and speak to him.
But no words came to her mouth and she just sat there, watching his eyes and his tongue as he spoke about something poetic. Her mind was just not in it, and she could not keep track. Nodding, she gulped. "Starclan always sees e-e-everything," she managed, smiling up at the first few stars twinkling above them. "Our a-a--ancestors, they're a-always there." It was all she could say, and she pretty much exhausted her entire conversational topic there, as well as her bravery at talking. She whimpered slightly, and moved to get up and sprint away, only a fierce need for Specklepaw to somehow appreciate her as a cat and not just a target keeping her there for a few moments before she decided to run away.
