A small she-cat made her way through the abandoned playground, ears pricked, mouth opened slightly to taste the air. The camp seemed deserted here, and Crossfire curled her lip in disgust. Nothing was in sight- not a soldier, trooper, veteran, anything! Either they were all hiding in their dens or out in the territory being lazy. She hadn't seen Flamestar around that much either.
The torbie let out a gusty sigh, full of confusion and exasperation. With leaf-bare approaching, it was all the more important to stock up on food and herbs before they became scarce. But how in the name of StarClan am I supposed to oversee that? the lieutenant wondered. I hardly see any warriors around, and we don't even have a medic.
Adding to her worries were the ominous dark clouds above her- there seemed to be a storm coming- and what would happen if all her Clanmates were stuck in the territory alone? Even prey animals weren't stupid enough to venture out in a storm. The soldiers and troopers would starve. Not to mention the veterans, whom couldn't hunt for themselves anyway.
As thunder rumbled and light rain began to fall, Crossfire closed her eyes helplessly. Things were spinning out of her control.
Oh StarClan she thought. I'd do anything to get out of this crossfire.

DewkitPoking her head out from the nursery entrance, the black and white kit glanced about. She had stayed up all night, not a wink of sleep, just so she could be up now. Her nursery friends were still died to the world, as were all their mothers. Grinning momentarily the Windclan kit bound out from underneath the play-set. So caught up the world around her that she didn't notice Crossfire until the Lieutenant was right in front of her.
She skid to a stop, mouth a gap, "Cr... Crossfire!? Uh, hi!"
